Nick and Grace met in Italy in 2015, and after years of long-distance, Nick moved to Vancouver in 2018. On their 5th anniversary, Nick proposed on a hike in Salt Spring Island. Their wedding took place in Italy, where their love story began. They chose a Tuscan villa for its romantic atmosphere and hosted various events throughout the week to bring their families and friends together. Inspired by the destination wedding and venue, Grace chose the romantic yet whimsical βArmeriaβ gown that perfectly embodied her destination weddingβs aesthetics.

Nick and I met in the summer of 2015 while we were both travelling through Italy. It was during a rooftop hostel night in Rome, & we fondly remember walking around that evening with our friends through the city seeing the monuments & being able to appreciate it more than when we toured during the scorching hot day! You know, when you travel you meet so many wonderful people and I honestly didnβt think I would ever see him again, but we kept in touch and that fall he came out to visit me in Vancouver (Nick is from the UK), from there we were long distance for 3 years until he made the move over to Vancouver in 2018.

In Salt Spring Island on a hike for our 5th year anniversary! When we reached the peak I stood at a photo spot while Nick went to ask the only other person up there to take a βphotoβ for us but discreetly whispered in her ear to take a video instead, when he joined me he got down on one knee! It was intimate and perfect, I didnβt want a spectacle, just me and him :)

The venue! I didnβt have a vision of anything I wanted until I found the place and I just played off of it from there. Italy, and the venue itself, is very romantic so I went with a romantic modern vibe.

We are both from different countries and couldnβt settle on which country to have it in for quite some time. Ultimately, we circled back to the place where our love story first unfolded: Italy! My inspiration for a destination wedding came from my sisterβs destination wedding, where guests had the opportunity to bond in the days leading up to the wedding, making the day itself even more special. So, I said to myself, if I ever get married I would want something like that! Fast forward to Nick and me, and I discovered the perfect venue - a villa nestled in the Tuscan hills, perfect for intimate gatherings with our family and friends. We did little events in different parts of the villa to make use of the surrounding area throughout the week (Welcome Party, Rehearsal Dinner, Brunch Pool Party) and had the wedding there also. It was truly the best time of our lives!

Again, I didnβt know anything until I found the venue! I saw this photo of a bride who had gotten married in a villa in Italy and she had this beautiful Galia Lahav tulle dress that was very my style at the time & also fit the vibe of the venue. When I started dress shopping I found a similar one at Everly at a much more reasonable price and I was so excited, It was actually the first one I tried on! When I eventually decided to go forward with it, I had the absolute best time customizing it with the Everly team xx

Hard question! There were so many amazing parts, which Iβm very thankful for. But if I had to choose, it was experiencing everything we had planned come together & everyone we love so much all in one place, in freaking Italy!

It will never go exactly as planned so donβt fret the little things, the day goes by so fast so make sure to take a moment with your new husband, take a deep breath, and take it all in! All your loved ones are there for you to celebrate you and your love! That feeling is one of a kind.
